The Jones Bassoon Reed is intended for beginners for use during the first few years of playing. This reed is designed for the basic range of the instrument, allowing each player to become easily acquainted with the bassoon. Our Bassoon Reed is tuned to 440 hz. Each piece of cane is selected for exact diameter and wall thickness. Following a number of mechanized steps, the reeds are assembled by hand and the string is coated with the strongest lacquer available. The reeds are then tested and adjusted, as necessary, before packaging. Even intonation and even tone Blades are symmetrical and well finished.
